Interview #1

Interview #1

This is an interview with one of the animators, Kaitlyn Fuchs from the short film, The Lost Files.

The Lost Files week 3:

Just an update on The Lost Files project,

we are currently n our third week and things are looking great. I have been even working on interviewing the animators to see how things are coming along, what they’re working out, and other interesting topics about the project. I just recently bought a brand new camera(Canon T4i) and I absolutely love it! The only problem is that it is still a little too new and they haven’t come out with the update yet for camera raw. So unfortunately right now I’m unable to edit any of my photos or videos or use camera raw or photoshop until I can get a hooks of the manual disc that I left at home over the weekend. it’ll be a few days, but ill have the interviews up in no time! Until then, keep checking up on my blog to see what other projects I’m working on, including this one!

Pipeline : Day One

Today was the first day of our second project in Design for Media. 3 students were picked, here were the results: Donald Y.  (36.1%)  Project Yoakam
Jinny H. & Laura M. (35.1%) The Ugly Dinosaur
Emma P. (27.3%) The Lost Files

I decided to choose to work on “The lost files” by Emma Pennington. This will be a short, one to two minute film about an art student who is trying to retrieve her lost work which is then personified into a little troll and she begins chasing the troll through the internet.

I think this will be a fun project and step out of my profession and work on a little animation with a very large group.

Today we split our group into smaller groups such as, Director, Head of Art Direction, Head of Editorial,
Story Crew, Background artist, Character Designer, Animation Crew, Sound, Scribe, Branding, Documentary director, Doc. Crew and Publisher.

I will be part of the Documentary Crew and Photographer. Our job, in the documentary crew is to basically document the entire process of this project with photos and videos for the weekly blogposts and the final product.

Next week will be continuing with the process so until then, check out our weekly blog for the project at this link:

Design 4 Media – Project Proposal – Project 2

For this project I think it would be awesome to have our very own class version of the show, Cupcake Wars!

The show is on the channel The Food Network and the contest is divided into 3 rounds.

Round 1: the contestants must create a cupcake based on taste alone with a theme associated including a twist of ingredients in 45 minutes.

Round 2: this round is based on both taste and presentation. In 75 minutes, the contestants must make 3 different cupcakes, each showcasing a different taste with an outstanding presentation.

Round 3: with the remaining 2 teams making 1,000 cupcakes in only 2 hours. Each team is assisted with the help of a 5-person team consisting of one carpenter and four baking interns to create the showcase for the cupcakes and help make the cupcakes for their corresponding contestants.

-Each episode has a theme.

-There will be 3 judges.

-In the show, the winners win $10,000 but i’m pretty sure that isn’t going to happen for us, so the awards will be discussed.

I think this project will be really fun and will be great to use our artistic skills on decorating the cupcakes, creating and building the props and decorating the set. We would also be acting and recording the contest as a video and our own episode of the “CCAD CUPCAKE WARS”
